TELEMEDICINE AND VIRTUAL CARE

MD Connected is a leader in virtual healthcare. With one of the highest number of virtual visit utilizations on the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN), we know virtual care. We have over 4 years of experience conducting telemedicine and virtual visits with hundreds of thousands of visits completed to date. We focus on the patient experience and have the highest standards for our team of medical practitioners. We offer multiple languages, specialty services and locations to assist our patients.

Telemedicine uses two-way video conferencing and advanced information communication technologies to deliver examinations, treatments, clinical, education and administrative services between a patient and doctor. Telemedicine allows patients to experience a similar experience to visiting a traditional doctor’s office with the main difference being that the doctor is not physically present. At MD Connected, our team of care coordinators are on site to provide you with all the support you need before virtually connecting you with a doctor or specialist.

In Ontario, both walk-in telemedicine and virtual appointments are covered by OHIP. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Ontario government has made virtual healthcare available to all residents of Ontario regardless of whether they have a valid health card or not. Virtual Appointments are also available to residents in British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia on a fee for service basis.

During registration you will be prompted to add the details of your preferred pharmacy. Once the consult is complete, and if you were provided a prescription by the doctor, your prescription will be faxed directly to your listed preferred pharmacy.

MD Connected also offers home prescription delivery. Simply opt-in for this service during registration and your prescription will be delivered right to your door from our accredited pharmacy partner. Please note that MD Connected does not send prescriptions directly to patients.

No problem. We can help with that. MD Connected is partnered with Rexall Pharmacy to ensure our patients are able to receive their prescriptions across Ontario. There are two options. You can either opt-in for home prescription delivery from Rexall Direct or we can send your prescription to the closet Rexall location based on your postal code. When registering for an appointment, please select the home delivery option if you would like that or select NO to the home delivery and DO NOT enter a preferred pharmacy and it will automatically default to the closest Rexall location if you prefer to pick up. If you elect to pick up in person, you will receive an email with the address to where the prescription was sent.
